Who we are

Run by SES members, for SES members

RESVA is an incorporated association for the Redland City SES Unit and its members. We're managed by elected Unit members and funded in the majority by Redland City Council and other sources.

  • Raising funds to support the Unit's operations
  • Planning expenditure with Council and the Unit executive to improve capability and effectiveness
  • Promoting friendship and fellowship among our members

What we fund

Where the money goes

Everything RESVA funds goes back into the Unit: kit on the trucks, skills in our people, and support for volunteers on the job.

Response equipment

Pumps, saws, ladders, batteries and chargers, lighting, vehicle gear and consumables.

Training

CPR manikins, first aid supplies and VHF marine radio training for flood boat operators.

Volunteer welfare

Meals, drinks and hydration packs for members on operations.

Members

Awards and recognition, unit camp, and catering for recruit nights and training.

Community

Supporting our presence at Anzac Day, RedFest and Mt Cotton Community Christmas.

Running the association

Bookkeeping, MemberHub, Xero and office supplies.

Keeping the lights on at Redland Bay

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred showed how exposed we were when the power went down. RESVA funded a large generator so the Redland Bay Group's building and Emergency Operations Centre can keep working through outages.
